What is your first dance for your London wedding?

The tradition of the first dance goes back many years. The first dance signifies that the ball is officially open, or that it what it used to signify. This is the couples first dance as husband and wife and as a wedding planner in London,  I love it when the couple comes up with something different, something that I haven't heard before.

You may choose a song that has always been your song, or it might be something that was playing when you met or it might just be a song you really like.

The most popular song is still "Amazed" by Lonestar and it has been for a couple of years. A classic with beautiful words but I've also heard this year, songs by The Stereophonics, Ottis Reading, Labrinth, Bryan Adams and Luther Vandross. Here is a little snippet of London wedding band, One Foot in the Groove playing some of the first dances they have played over the last 12 months

Entertainment for your London Wedding

Couples are now looking to add the wow factor to their big day and its doesn't have to cost a lot. I have been exploring all sorts of visual options as well as the musical ones for weddings this year.
Here are some of the most popular.

The Photobooth
Over the last two years, these have become increasingly popular and a great way to get all of your guests involved and of course you get to keep the photos. Photobooths come in all shapes and disguises these days. For instance, VW Beetle booths and taxi cab booths.

Singing Waiters
Since the first group got together and launched the concept of the singing waiters, every agency seems to offer them. A great surprise for guests whist they enjoy their wedding breakfast. You can also have singing guests. These are literally singers dressed as wedding guests that at any given moment will burst into song

Fireworks
If you want to add a real 'wow' factor to your evening reception then foreworks will do it. They can be very expensive and you do have to make sure your chosen wedding venue in Essex will allow you to do this but they can look stunning

Styling
As a London wedding planner I am always looking at styling for clients and little touches that can add a lot to the overall look and style of the wedding. For example, a carousel in the grounds of your venue, some fairground games, a wedding bouncy castle and illuminated names and initials. The list is endless and they are so many specialist companies that can help you with all of these extra entertainment/wow factors for your London wedding.

A Marquee Wedding in Surrey, Essex or Hertfordshire

Quite a few of my clients have marquee weddings and over the last twelve months I have been asked to look for something different than the tradtional framed marquee. With that in mind I thought I'd share some ideas with you for your marquee wedding in Essex, Hertfordshire or buckinghamshire.
